SUMMARY
The HR Operations Specialist is responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of Human Resources services, including recruitment, staffing, workflow management, employee services, and fostering positive employee relations.
This role collaborates closely with the HR team to ensure adherence to organizational policies and legal requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct interviews and select candidates that align with job requirements.
- Engage in employee relations initiatives and develop programs to enhance workforce morale.
- Provide guidance and support to supervisors and managers on HR-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws (ADA, FMLA, COBRA, etc.).
- Develop and maintain affirmative action strategies; prepare and submit annual EEO-1 reports.
- Contribute to the establishment of departmental goals and objectives.
- Oversee recruitment processes for all levels of personnel, including temporary and student positions.
- Facilitate new employee orientation and monitor career development programs.
- Manage employee relations counseling and conduct exit interviews.
- Participate in administrative meetings and professional development seminars.
- Propose innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to enhance departmental efficiency.
- Maintain accurate HR information system records and generate relevant reports.
- Assist in conducting salary surveys and updating compensation structures.
- Address and resolve employee grievances and complaints.
- Collaborate with departments to create job descriptions for all roles.
- Prepare necessary documentation, including correspondence and spreadsheets.
- Provide training for new hires and follow up on their integration.
- Assist with payroll inquiries and related processes.
- Support security functions in coordination with HR staff.
- Engage in special projects as assigned.
- Manage petty cash accounts and report to the accounting department.
- Participate in community engagement activities and company-sponsored events.
SUPERVISORY ROLE
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must effectively manage essential duties, stay informed on employment regulations, maintain confidentiality, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources.
- Prior HR experience is preferred.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and regulations. Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software for onboarding and recruitment.
MATHEMATICAL APTITUDE
Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and interpret data effectively.
PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS
Ability to address practical issues and interpret various instructions in different formats.
CERTIFICATIONS
PHR certification is recommended but not mandatory.
OTHER SKILLS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands of this role require regular communication and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position may involve exposure to moderate noise levels and occasional airborne particles.
