Job Title: Paraprofessional, 1:1 Secondary Special Education

Denver Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our team as a 1:1 Secondary Special Education Support Staff. This role will provide critical support to students with moderate needs, ensuring they receive the individualized attention and care they require to thrive.

Job Summary:

The Paraprofessional will work closely with general education staff to facilitate the inclusion of students with special needs in the classroom. This will involve providing instruction at the large group, small group, and individual level, as well as collaborating with teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic and behavioral support to students with moderate needs
  • Collaborate with general education staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Deliver instruction at the large group, small group, and individual level
  • Assist with physical care needs of students, as required
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure seamless support
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong commitment to supporting students with special needs and a willingness to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members. You will also need to have the ability to meet the physical demands of the position, which may include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
