Job Title: Special Education Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Assistant to join our team at Laradon. As a Special Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with developmental disabilities and/or emotional/behavioral disorders in an educational setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement and track Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals, behavior support plans, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Provide supervision and engage students in activities that promote learning and development.
  • Manage crisis situations according to established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, students, and parents.
  • Complete documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, and serve as a positive role model.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required; one or more years of experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or emotional/behavioral disorders preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, flexibility, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to be a Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) preferred.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force and maintain stamina for full work days.
