Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at Altorfer. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on customer-owned or Altorfer rental lift trucks and allied type construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional service to customers by performing maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on equipment.
  • Assist in determining if equipment needs to be transported to the shop for repairs.
  • Establish and maintain a service-oriented working relationship with customers.
  • Plan and execute the repair of various pieces of rental equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
  • Complete service reports and other paperwork before and after repairs are made.
  • Perform other related duties as requested and/or assigned.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a formal technical training program or a minimum of 2 years of previous related work experience.
  • Previous experience working on electric, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, drivetrain, brake systems, etc., and possess troubleshooting skills.
  • Automotive and Industrial Maintenance Technicians encouraged to apply.
  • Computer literate and proficient with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook required. Knowledge of Cat software preferred.
  • Must take initiative, be team-oriented, and willing to adapt to change.
  • Ability to write professional business communication when sending emails, letters, notes, and documenting is required.
  • Must be a self-starter, well-organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow all safety rules and wear proper safety equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills are needed.
  • Must be able to safely lift 100lbs, bend, twist, and climb.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This position will work in the field/shop environment and at customer job sites. May on a continuous basis carry, bend, and lift up to 100lbs. Will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment for a given situation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Travel between locations is required.
