Medical Laboratory Specialist

PennState Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Lab Technician to join our team in Hershey, Pennsylvania. As a Medical Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues to identify bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms.
- Analyze chemical content of fluids and cross-match blood for transfusion and organ transplantation.
- Prepare cells for use in cellular therapies and provide results to support diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
- Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program (NAACLS/ABHES) or Associate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited college/university with 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semesters of biology, and twelve (12) semester hours of courses in chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination.
- Medical Lab Technician Certification through ASCP, AMT, ACHI or an equivalent certification agency must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
- Applicants trained outside of the United States must provide documentation of equivalency evaluation of their education and training to ensure it is equivalent to CLIA requirements.
