Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Program Facilitator to join our team at the Armed Services YMCA of the USA. As a Program Facilitator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging programs for elementary school students from military families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver interactive lessons and activities that promote character development, resilience, and academic success.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the school to organize a comfortable and engaging learning space.
  • Assist in planning and executing a special graduation ceremony and reception for Operation Hero students.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance program delivery and quality.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in a child-related field preferred.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Experience in an instructional capacity as a teacher or child care lead in a supervised education/child care-related program.
  • Knowledge of military life is a plus.
  • Must successfully pass a full Background Check and Fingerprint Screening.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have good time management and organizational skills.
  • Must enjoy working with children.
  • Have a well-developed philosophy on the education of young children, which parallels with the educational philosophy of the Armed Services YMCA.
  • Be able to lift up to 20 pounds as there are many physical tasks that include, but are not limited to: bending, stretching, pulling, pushing, sitting (chair and rug/floor), kneeling, standing, climbing stairs, and going inside and outside.
