Position Overview


The Operations Manager is essential in overseeing the management, training, and development of personnel while executing both short-term and long-term strategic initiatives.

This role involves supervising all facets of the operations team, particularly focusing on drivers, maintenance, and dispatch personnel to guarantee that daily operations meet client needs effectively and efficiently, adhering to contractual obligations.

The Operations Manager is committed to providing the safest and highest quality transportation experience for passengers while maintaining budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Drivers, Dispatchers, and operations staff to ensure safe and efficient operations, including scheduling, expenses, attendance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings.
  • Facilitate training, retraining, and updates to policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Perform driver evaluations as mandated by contracts, as well as ADA, DOT, and FTA standards.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to foster positive relationships and provide necessary updates and information.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned or required.
  • Monitor the performance of direct reports, offering coaching and guidance as needed.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in transit management.
  • Prior management experience in Para-Transit or livery sectors is preferred.
  • Experience working with senior citizens or individuals with disabilities.
  • Proven experience supervising hourly staff in a passenger transportation setting.
  • Experience in both classroom and practical training environments.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
Preferred Skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to understand and enforce disciplinary measures.
  • Knowledge of basic safety and training protocols.
  • Experience with map reading, two-way radio communication, and driving in a demand-responsive service context.
  • Data analytics capabilities are preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of ADA, DOT, and FTA regulations is advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.

Salary Range

Minimum Salary: $85,000
Maximum Salary: $100,000
