About the Role:

Eaton's IS AER FMC division is seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Assembler/Tester A (2nd Shift). This role involves assembling and testing routine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of simple to complex product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and test mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies, ensuring activities are performed correctly and proper tooling and documentation are used.
  • Organize data and prepare test reports.
  • Perform lock wire/safety wire and nameplate.
  • Perform visual inspection, identify any defective items, and handle according to established procedures.
  • Utilize hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, depth micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, flow meters, multimeters, test boxes, or specialized test equipment as needed.
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, testing schematics, verbal, and/or written instructions.
  • Prepare materials, including lapping of surfaces with proper tooling techniques and compounds.
  • Perform cross-training when required.
  • Identify and assist in process improvements.
  • Perform acceptance tests on repaired, modified, returned, or production units, and conduct in-person testing as required.
  • Determine when and if an Engineering Change Order (ECO) is required, and work with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering departments to implement assembly and test procedures.
  • Act as a department representative in customer audits/visits.
  • Use test equipment to perform in-process testing and final Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).
  • Adhere to operational procedures and ensure tooling is in calibration before use.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety rules and regulations.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in assembly within a manufacturing, aerospace, or military environment.
  • Minimum of 4 years of testing one or more of the following: mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical assemblies.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Ability to utilize hand tools and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and testing schematics.
