Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic - Aviation Expert

We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team at GPAC, a leading provider of aviation maintenance and repair services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal work, with a focus on aviation applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform sheet metal repairs and maintenance on aircraft structures, including fuselage, wings, and control surfaces, and interior.
  • Modify and fabricate sheet metal parts and assemblies according to blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft sheet metal structures to identify any damage or wear. Test repaired structures to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and repair manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate and high-quality workmanship.
  • Adhere to all applicable aviation regulations, safety protocols, and company policies during all phases of work.
  • Work closely with other mechanics, technicians, and engineers to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an FAA-approved aviation maintenance technician school preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience as a sheet metal mechanic in the aviation industry.
  • A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certification is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in the use of sheet metal tools and equipment, including shears, brakes, drills, and rivet guns. Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Solid understanding of aviation safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in confined spaces.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
