Position Title: Manager of Mortgage Processing & Servicing
Reports To: Director of Mortgage Lending
Status: Salary; Exempt

Position Overview: The role involves overseeing mortgage loan processors and servicers, ensuring adherence to operational standards and compliance with federal and state regulations. Responsibilities include guiding staff in preparing mortgage loan disclosures and closing documents, as well as maintaining data integrity and quality of loan information. The position emphasizes exceptional customer relations, providing timely assistance, and promoting bank products and services. Additionally, it involves advising others in loan activities to ensure proper processing and maintaining adequate controls. The role requires collaboration with the Compliance Officer to ensure regulatory compliance and with the Chief Credit Officer to manage new systems, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, recruit, and train mortgage loan processing and servicing personnel, making recommendations for personnel changes or restructuring.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service through proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead a team to achieve overall bank objectives.
  • Oversee processing and servicing workflows within the bank.
  • Manage loan documentation and pre-closing review processes, ensuring data integrity.
  • Understand and manage collateral perfection processes, including lien entry and title commitments.
  • Monitor compliance legislation and establish procedures to manage mortgage lending risks.
  • Administer and maintain the Loan Operating System (LOS) and associated interfaces.
  • Develop efficient workflows, reports, and dashboards to enhance automation.
  • Design and implement policies to support mortgage processing systems and streamline operations.
  • Conduct training for user groups to maximize platform capabilities.
  • Manage secondary market investor programs, including servicing and reporting.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and address issues through appropriate channels.
  • Understand relevant federal, state, and banking regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees Mortgage Loan Processors and Mortgage Servicing Specialists.

Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in mortgage loan processing, customer service, loan servicing, and supervisory roles is essential. Proficiency in LaserPro and Encompass is required, with familiarity in Fannie Mae DU, UCD & UCDP preferred. A valid Driver's License is necessary. Knowledge of banking regulations is strongly recommended.

Specific Skills Required: Effective communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in basic computer applications including Adobe, Word, and Excel. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks are essential. Excellent written communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information are required.

Competencies: Critical thinking, decision-making, time management, and collaboration skills are vital.

System Access: Proficient in FiServ Precision, Encompass, LaserPro, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions: The role is performed in an office environment, requiring prolonged sitting and occasional lifting of materials. The position involves repetitive use of hands for computer tasks and may require travel to other locations as needed.
