Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Psychology Assistant to join our team at the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will be responsible for providing psychological interventions, conducting individual and group counseling, and administering therapy for stress and pain management under the guidance of a licensed psychologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs initial screening and psychological evaluations/assessments, administers, scores, and interprets psychological and/or neuropsychological tests, interviews, and observes patients, residents, students, consumers, or inmates.
  • Writes and/or assists in the preparation of clinical reports and treatment plans under clinical supervision of a licensed psychologist.
  • Provides clinical direction and participates in providing in-service training to other treatment team members.
  • Serves on committees, attends meetings, and participates in staff development and research projects.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of clinical psychology, psychotherapy, psychodiagnosis, interviewing, counseling, and statistics.
  • Ability to understand abstract field of study, recognize unusual or threatening conditions, and take appropriate action.
  • Write meaningful, accurate, and concise reports and records.
  • Counsel others on sensitive matters.
  • Prepare and present clinical information and in-services training to non-clinical staff in an understandable manner.
