The Helen Ross McNabb Center is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Liaison to join their team in Claiborne, Grainger, or Hamblen County, Tennessee.

About the Role

This position involves providing direct mental health services to children and families in rural communities. The successful candidate will work closely with schools, families, and community agencies to promote healthy learning environments and provide individualized support to students.

As a Mental Health Liaison, you will be responsible for providing individual consultation to teachers, training and education to school staff and students, and direct services to identified students. You will also participate in IEP meetings and work collaboratively with families to develop Individualized Education Plans.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual, family, and group counseling sessions to support children and families.
  • Provide advocacy, linkage, and referral services as needed to ensure access to resources and support.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and develop Individualized Education Plans that address the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and community agencies to promote healthy learning environments and provide individualized support to students.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, including chart records and grant reporting requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in a human services field, such as counseling or social work.
  • At least two years of experience working with children and families, preferably in a mental health setting.
  • Licensed or licensed eligible in the state of Tennessee.
  • Ability to effectively counsel children and families, present professionally, and work collaboratively within a team format.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, possess good time management and organizational skills, and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
Working Conditions and Requirements

The Mental Health Liaison position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. The position also requires certification in verbal and physical de-escalation techniques and CPR. A valid Tennessee driver's license is required.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $49,273 per year, based on relevant experience and education. A $4,000 sign-on bonus is available for the right candidate.
