About the Role

Hartford Healthcare (HHC) is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our esteemed Cardiology Critical Care team.

The successful candidate will provide exceptional, patient-centered care to critically ill patients admitted to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and/or Cardiac Step-Down Unit. Our patient populations include those requiring Therapeutic Hypothermia, STEMI, TAVR, VAD, ECMO, and other cardiogenic shock therapies.

As a critical care provider, you will support patients across the care continuum and work collaboratively with specialty teams to deliver holistic and evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, including referrals to other health team members or specialists.
  • Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider's practice, as designated by protocols, and identify problems outside of their scope of practice and refer appropriately to physician.

Requirements
  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible).
  • Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
