Job Overview:

The CNC Precision Machinist is responsible for operating advanced grinding machinery to manufacture components in accordance with precise engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Adjust and calibrate machine settings based on product requirements, leveraging expertise in machine functionality. Utilize precision measuring instruments to assess work pieces and establish layout. Choose appropriate tooling for machining processes, informed by production needs and machine capabilities. Analyze engineering blueprints, work orders, or machining directives to ascertain specifications, tooling needs, and operational procedures. Securely mount and position tools in various machine fixtures, utilizing both mechanical and hand tools. Initiate machine operations to grind or cut components, adhering to specified tolerances. Conduct inspections of finished components to verify compliance with specifications, employing tools such as gauges and micrometers, maintaining tolerances of +/- .001 on both Inside Diameter (I.D) and Outside Diameter (O.D). Manually handle and position work pieces on machine tables, faceplates, or chucks, utilizing clamps as necessary. Set up and operate grinding equipment that removes excess material, sharpens edges, or polishes metal or plastic components. Monitor machine performance to identify issues and implement necessary adjustments. Perform any additional tasks as directed by supervisory personnel.

Required Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Inside Diameter and Outside Diameter grinding operations. Knowledge: Proficient understanding of precision grinding in a dynamic manufacturing setting. Skills/Abilities: Expertise in cylindrical grinding, centerless grinding, and I.D/O.D grinding techniques. Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Eligibility Requirement: Access to Controlled Data or Information may be necessary; only US Persons will be considered for positions requiring such access, in compliance with ITAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Studer S20 and other I.D/O.D grinding machines.

Work Environment:

Standard manufacturing environment conditions apply. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, masks, and hearing protection may be required. Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. Predominantly standing position required. Mental/Visual: Proficient use of microscopes and computers.
