**CNC Machinist Job Summary:**

The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters
  • Validate material used
  • Maintain specifications; Troubleshoot, detect malfunctions, and take appropriate actions; Know when to replace worn tools
  • Listen to machining operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems
  • Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures, and knowledge of GDT standards
  • Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as any necessary further steps
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

**Requirements:**

  • Experience: 3+ year of experience machining with CNC Mills and/or Lathe
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of various inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, and height gages; Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations; Knowledge of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing; Understanding of cutting tool Geometry; Knowledge of tooling and coordination
  • Skills/Abilities: Able to work quickly and efficiently through Process Improvement structure; Good verbal and written communication; Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
  • Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

**Working Conditions:**

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps, and any other required PPE. May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes. Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary.

**Benefits:**

Crane Aerospace & Electronics offers a competitive salary range of $29.00 to $39.61. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
