Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Mid Michigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons
  • Support and direct patients for consults and/or testing and insurance pre-certification and documentation
  • Perform routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs and assessing and recording objective and subjective data
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records, including orders reconciliation and secure messaging
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures
  • Prepare and clean patient areas, set up equipment, and dispose of contaminated supplies
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire
  • Medical Assistant certification (RMA, CMA, or equivalent)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a physician clinic setting
  • Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a clinical setting, with exposure to stressful situations and potentially infectious materials. The successful candidate will be able to move freely about the facility and perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
