Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Mid Michigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons, receive and relay test results, and support patients for consults and/or testing and insurance pre-certification and documentation.
  • Greet patients and/or family, perform routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs, assessing and recording objective and subjective data concerning presenting conditions, and update and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures, prepare and clean the patient area, set up equipment, clean and facilitate room setup after a procedure, and dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments.
  • Provide complete patient assessment, perform patient care measures, including injections, minor dressing changes, and obtaining blood specimens, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and co-workers.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire or transfer.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
  • Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures.
Working Conditions

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief, and death. Able to wear personal protective equipment, including latex materials or appropriate substitutes if required for your position. Is able to move freely about the facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
