Elders Activities Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Elders Activities Coordinator to join our team at the Squaxin Island Tribe. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing social, educational, and cultural activities for our elderly population.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a calendar of activities that cater to the interests and needs of our elderly community.
- Coordinate travel plans and ensure accessibility for elderly individuals with limited mobility.
- Plan and conduct activities in a fiscally responsible manner, adhering to Tribal and Elders, Inc. reconciliation procedures.
- Collaborate with the Elders Manager and Family Services Department to ensure alignment with departmental policies and procedures.
- Provide weekly updates on events and activities in the Elders Program.
- Assist with large fundraising events, such as the OysterFest Salmon Bake and the bi-annual Elder's Host Luncheon.
- Maintain accurate records and files related to events and activities.
- AA Degree with 2 years' relevant experience serving an elderly population or HS diploma/GED and 4 years of relevant experience serving an elderly population.
- Ability to work well with elderly individuals, address and communicate with them in a patient and respectful manner.
- Knowledge of challenges and barriers specific to elderly individuals.
- Valid Washington Driver's License and proof of insurance.
- Food Handlers Permit and First Aid Certificate.
- Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute and have excellent computer skills and experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
The work environment is dynamic and requires flexibility. The successful candidate will be required to work a flexible schedule, including some weekend and frequent evening hours.
Indian PreferenceThe Squaxin Island Tribe exercises Indian Preference in the hiring of this position.
