Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist position at Mason Health offers an exceptional opportunity to join our quality Rehab team of dedicated professionals. This role involves treating patients from birth to 21 years old for various needs, including developmental, cognitive, self-care, handwriting, sensory, motor, behavior, feeding, or social emotional needs. The caseload primarily consists of children aged 2-11 years old. The therapist will evaluate and treat each child in a one-hour session, providing caregiver education and materials to assist families in implementing carry-over strategies at home. Our pediatric team utilizes a play-based approach to interventions, and the therapist will collaborate with other team members to best serve the family's needs. Pediatric patients are typically on the therapist's caseload for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months, with the option for longer or shorter periods based on the therapist's discretion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for evaluating assigned patients, establishing treatment plans, and setting goals using data from various sources, such as patient records, interviews, observation, and team members. The therapist will complete patient treatment according to the plan of care, modifying it as needed to meet patient needs and updating it as appropriate. Accurate and timely documentation is essential, adhering to regulatory and state licensure requirements, as well as professional standards. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth, continuous care for patients. They may act as a liaison with nursing, medical, and other therapy staffs to facilitate problem-solving and coordination of other services, serving as an educational resource. The therapist will mentor and provide oversight to new employees, therapy assistants, and therapy aides, providing instruction and training to students. They will actively develop and maintain professional and clinical skills, participating in staff meetings, patient care meetings, educational in-services, caregiver orientation, and other professional activities. The Occupational Therapist will consistently demonstrate Mason Health values and provide an excellent service experience for all patients/customers. They will recommend and participate in the development of new services and programs, quality improvement, and monitoring activities. Other related duties may be assigned.
