Job Overview

Position Summary:

Under the guidance of the Branch Manager, the Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing sourcing operations to reduce expenses and increase profitability. This position involves negotiating with vendors to secure goods, materials, and services at optimal prices by employing strategic sourcing techniques and comprehensive expertise. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for identifying the best pricing options for quotes to both potential and existing clients of PENCOM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and engaging suppliers worldwide while fostering enduring relationships with both new and existing vendors.
  • Executing inventory management strategies to optimize resources within the organization.
  • Gathering quotes from a diverse global sourcing network.
  • Leading initiatives aimed at reducing supplier costs and driving continuous enhancements.
  • Negotiating terms, quantities, and delivery timelines with suppliers.
  • Collaborating with senior management and/or legal advisors to ensure that all procurement contracts encompass the full scope of negotiations.
  • Evaluating quotes and preparing a comprehensive analysis of cost breakdowns.
  • Creating quote comparisons and total cost assessments, contributing to the internal supplier selection process based on these evaluations.
  • Offering solutions to enhance company expenditures and outsourcing strategies.
  • Partnering with sales teams to devise strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Locating sources and samples as requested by the sales department.
  • Responsibilities and tasks may evolve at any time with or without prior notice from management.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement processes.
  • A solid understanding of sourcing methodologies.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
