About The Role - Procurement Specialist

We are pleased to present a stable opportunity for a Procurement Specialist within the Orica team.

This role is essential in establishing and optimizing local sourcing strategies to enhance production efficiency. Reporting to the production supervisor, the Procurement Specialist will collaborate closely with the procurement teams to manage sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relations for all external expenditures necessary to meet production goals.

Attention to detail is crucial, as the role involves various administrative tasks. This position offers a unique chance to contribute to the growth of our production capabilities in a global context.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing local sourcing strategies for the production facility
  • Managing categories including market strategy, bid processes, and evaluations
  • Facilitating operational processes through the creation and management of Purchase Orders
  • Reviewing supplier invoices for accuracy and resolving discrepancies
  • Overseeing supplier relations, including corrective actions and audits
  • Maintaining procurement data within ERP systems and utilizing them for tracking
  • Assisting in inventory forecasting and related reporting
  • Managing freight and invoice processes
  • Updating and auditing safety data sheets
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Educational background in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems (AX2009 or Dynamics 365 preferred)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to maintain focus in a dynamic work environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent analytical and numerical reasoning skills
  • Commitment to professionalism and confidentiality
  • Adherence to procurement policies and cost management
