New London, Connecticut, United States Boston Consulting Group Full time
ROLE OVERVIEW
**This is a Temporary 12 month role**

The Senior Manager of Global Mobility Programs is tasked with overseeing and innovating the Global Ambassador initiative. This encompasses daily operational duties (including program promotion, application management, candidate selection, placement coordination, and participant assistance) as well as enhancement projects for the program. The Ambassador initiative allows our top-performing consultants to immerse themselves in a different BCG office for approximately one year, gaining exposure to diverse cultures, practices, clients, and methodologies. This experience fosters professional growth by expanding personal expertise, building international networks, and enhancing cultural understanding.

Key responsibilities will involve general program promotion, communication with various offices and candidates, leading the application process, reviewing candidates, overseeing placements, conducting participant check-ins, and analyzing survey data to ensure the ongoing success of the programs. The individual will collaborate closely with members of the Global Mobility team, Mobility Managers, and Transfer Coordinators across global offices.

A crucial aspect of this role will be to spearhead the development and implementation of a series of program enhancements aimed at ensuring this flagship mobility initiative and other premier programs evolve to meet the changing needs of our consultants and the organization. The role holder will engage in designing, executing, and assessing the success of modifications while proposing improvements as the refined format is piloted with offices and participants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Program Management
    • Budget & Planning: Provide input for annual budget discussions with Finance, including seat allocation across offices based on size, demand, and historical participation.
    • Application & Placement: Guide offices on candidate selection and eligibility. Collaborate with offices and candidates to facilitate successful placements through information sharing, personalized advice, and process management. Conduct workshops to ensure candidates are well-informed about the program experience. Partner with the international tax team to understand tax implications of potential placements.
    • Participant Support: Conduct orientation workshops to prepare participants for successful relocation and integration. Identify potential challenges for each individual and collaborate with home and host offices to ensure readiness. Follow up on any participant who is unstaffed for a period; manage issue resolution and escalate to mobility leadership as necessary. Conduct and analyze participant check-ins to identify themes and suggest improvements for future cohorts. Promote global communications to celebrate participants and enhance the visibility of the Ambassador experience.
  • Program Enhancement:
    • Program Improvements: Evaluate program outcomes and propose modifications to content, policies, processes, and tools to maintain program quality; plan and implement future change initiatives in collaboration with mobility leadership. Facilitate Ambassador program team meetings, tracking progress on issues and managing resolutions.
    • Selection Criteria and Process: Redefine the selection criteria for the Ambassador program, aligning with corporate development standards, and enable the rollout of the new criteria. Streamline the selection process to enhance efficiency and speed of outcomes for applicants.
    • Program Experience: Transform the program experience to deliver a unique mobility journey that prepares future leaders with the necessary geographic and topical knowledge to meet business needs.
    • Cost Optimization: Revise the program structure to maximize return on investment and reallocate resources where necessary to achieve higher ROI.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, ideally in management consulting or a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project and process management expertise.
  • Familiarity with BCG systems and processes is advantageous.
  • Solid analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written.
