Auxiliary Programs Coordinator Job Description

The Auxiliary Programs Coordinator is a vital role at Hammond School, responsible for delivering high-quality programs for students through the Extended Day Program and Summer Camp. This position requires a strong ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs that meet the needs of students, while also ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for students enrolled in the Extended Day Program, including preparing and submitting activity plans to the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
  • Prepare and plan age-appropriate activities and field trips for campers enrolled in Hawk Ridge Camp during the summer.
  • Collaborate with program personnel to brainstorm and plan Extended Day activities for half- and full-day programs for the next school year.
  • Implement the Extended Day Program and Summer Programs procedures and policies effectively to ensure the safety of all participants.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records, including attendance rosters and other paperwork, to ensure program compliance and quality operations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience working with young children and experience coordinating summer camp or working at a summer camp is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, solid content creation and computer skills.
  • Ability to be flexible with the day-to-day uncertainties and changing circumstances of student enrollment and schedules.
  • Able to work independently and be a contributing member of the Team; be self-motivated and energetic.
  • Participate in necessary professional development sessions to obtain at least 15 DSS credit hours annually.
Working Conditions:

The Auxiliary Programs Coordinator reports to the Director of Auxiliary Programs and is expected to work 1:00-6:00 PM throughout the week, with the ability to work extended hours on half- and full-days when the Extended Day Program is open on some school holidays throughout the school year.
