The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic diseases in an outpatient setting.
- Implement basic and advanced LPN procedures as defined by policies and procedures.
- Assist in conducting diagnostic tests and procedures such as urinary bladder scanning, oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, ostomy care, EKG, and spirometry.
- Administer medications and immunizations as directed without error.
- Document patient information and nursing care provided.
- Active licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or District of Columbia.
- Maintains current BLS certification.
- Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
- At least one year of experience as an LPN/LVN at the GS-5 level or equivalent.
