Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate EHS orientations for staff and contractors, educating them on new and revised procedures, processes, and regulations.
  • Investigate and document any reported unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents, providing comprehensive reports to management.
  • Address any reported inappropriate conduct that may jeopardize individual or collective safety, ensuring timely communication with management.
  • Conduct regular audits of facility operations to confirm compliance with EHS standards and corporate policies, escalating issues as needed.
  • Develop and implement Emergency Action Plans, coordinating with local emergency services and conducting drills as the designated site emergency coordinator.
  • Maintain ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications through effective management processes.
  • Propose enhancements to the EHS program by monitoring regulatory changes, researching best practices, and collaborating with relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Analyze and compile EHS-related data from facilities, providing timely insights and reports to management.
  • Oversee the workers' compensation process, ensuring claims are filed accurately and promptly, in collaboration with HR.
  • Manage the site’s drug and alcohol program, working closely with HR as necessary.
  • Review and suggest updates to EHS-related contracts and agreements with third-party suppliers.

General Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in EHS.
  • Proven ability to interpret and comply with OSHA and other relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a history of successful collaboration with clients and suppliers.
  • Effective leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in assigned areas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Willingness to travel less than 5% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Safety Professional or equivalent.
  • Experience in environments certified under ISO 14001 and 45001.
  • Experience working with field service organizations.
