Job Title: EHS Specialist

Transco is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented EHS Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and customers.

Job Summary:

The EHS Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining company policies and procedures related to environmental, health, and safety regulations. This includes conducting safety inspections, accident investigations, and providing training and education to employees on safety protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies, particularly critical policies and procedures at the Sheldon Repair Shop.
  • Conduct safety inspections and accident reports to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain a standardized record-keeping system for all accidents, including review and follow-up.
  • Assist in the preparation, editing, and publication of safety education materials, including bulletins, guides, courses of study, pamphlets, audio/visual materials, and other resources.
  • Maintain SDS requirements and lead daily, weekly, and monthly safety topic training.
  • Assist with new hire safety orientation and coordinate with vendors, maintain documentation, and schedule pickups.
  • Ensure environmental record keeping is properly maintained and update the visual management process, including safety, quality, delivery visuals, 5S department organization, and production scheduling board maintenance.
  • Establish strong relationships with customers and resolve customer inquiries and problems.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the SHE Manager or Plant Manager.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in production management, with railcar repair industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to inspect, identify, and verify that plant safety and processes are implemented, performed, and completed in compliance with industry, company, and customer requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and ability to learn proprietary database systems.
  • Industry knowledge of AAR and FRA rules, and Tank Car Maintenance Regulations; knowledge of current regulatory requirements, such as AAR MSRP, M-1002, Section C, Part III, HM201; knowledge of FRA regulations, preferred.
