The Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance and Patient Safety is responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of quality and safety initiatives across the organization. This role demands a proactive approach to enhance patient outcomes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Direct and oversee the development and implementation of quality improvement programs organization-wide.
2. Analyze and interpret data to support continuous improvement efforts and optimal patient care.
3. Collaborate with executive leadership to establish and advance strategic quality initiatives.
4. Lead efforts to meet accreditation standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to all applicable guidelines.
5. Manage the organizational occurrence reporting system, identifying trends and implementing risk reduction strategies.
6. Design and deliver educational programs for staff and stakeholders on risk management and quality assurance.
7. Facilitate a comprehensive risk management program to comply with statutory and accreditation standards.
8. Participate in disaster preparedness and patient safety initiatives, providing leadership and direction.
9. Ensure effective communication of quality improvement activities throughout the organization.
10. Offer expert guidance to senior management and healthcare teams on quality improvement methodologies and data analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; advanced degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical, risk management, or administrative roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulations, including JCAHO standards.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Florida.
- If designated as the primary Risk Manager, must possess a current Florida Healthcare Risk Management license.
- Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or as a Diplomate in the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (CHCQM) is required.
Individuals lacking CPHQ or ABQUARP certification will be granted a 12-month period to obtain certification, provided all other qualifications are satisfied.
