Job Title: Dietetic Technician

Maxonic is seeking a skilled Dietetic Technician to join our team. As a Dietetic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing nutrition care services to patients and clients, addressing prevention and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and conditions, and promoting overall health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct nutrition assessments of patients within the scope of practice of a Dietetic Technician-Registered, based on screening and documentation guidelines.
  • Implement and monitor nutritional interventions assigned by the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to meet the nutritional needs of patients.
  • Estimate nutritional intakes of patients, calculate and document calorie counts as requested, and assist RDs with data collection as needed.
  • Identify patients in need of in-depth assessment by RD and transfer care appropriately.
  • Instruct patients (and/or families, as appropriate) on restricted/special diets or special formulas, and refer for outpatient follow-up as necessary.
  • Be knowledgeable regarding nutritional content, sources, and use of commercial supplements, tube feeding, human milk, infant formulas, and feeding modulars (fat, protein, carbohydrate, vitamins, and minerals).
  • Input data from outpatient diet records on computer for analysis to be completed by outpatient dietitian, maintain updates, and enter new items in Food Processor.
  • Provide nutrition and lactation education, including assembly, cleaning, and maintenance of breast pump equipment.
  • Prepare, portion, deliver patient enteral feeding orders accurately and timely.
  • Practice with a questioning attitude and escalate concerns, issues, or discrepancies regarding enteral feeding orders, faulty equipment, and unsafe working conditions appropriately.
  • Adhere to applicable regulations, safety, and infection prevention & control standards that govern enteral feeding production operations.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and other projects.
  • Provide education with regard to nutrition and lactation.
  • Participate in site-specific education events as requested.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Nutrition or related program by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Nutrition and Dietetic Technician-Registered (NDTR) Commission on Dietetic Registration within 9 months.
  • Level 4 Worker - Covid Vax Required.
