Job Overview

ICONSTAFF is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead their platform engineering team. The successful candidate will be part of the engineering leadership team and manage a group of frontend, backend, and data engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the technical direction and impact of the team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Machine Learning, Clinical, and Regulatory Affairs
  • Work with direct reports to understand their motivations and develop their career paths
  • Formulate an effective strategy for recruiting and retaining high-performing and collaborative engineers

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in computer science or a related field, or a Bachelor of Science with similar practical experience
  • Previous experience working in software development
  • Experience working in startup environments
  • Previous experience leading or managing engineering teams
  • Cloud computing systems with microservices or data pipelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry preferred
  • Knowledge of computer vision tasks, including detection, segmentation, and classification, a plus
  • Experience working with various data types, such as EMR, genomics, biometrics, and images, a plus
  • Experience deploying machine learning models to production preferred
