Job Title: Senior Manager, Software Engineering, DevOps

Capital One is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering, DevOps to lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of developers in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for millions of Americans.
  • Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and participate in internal and external technology communities.
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Ruby, and Go, as well as container orchestration services, including Docker and Kubernetes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in DevOps Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • At least 6 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in people management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 9+ years of DevOps Engineering experience.
  • 6+ years of experience with coding and scripting, including Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl, or Ruby.
  • 4+ years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation, and delivery.
  • 3+ years of experience with monitoring tools, including Splunk or Zabbix.
  • 3+ years of experience with container orchestration services, including Docker or Kubernetes.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices.
