About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Department Manager to join our team at The GIANT Company. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and profitable management of our meat department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the meat department, including sales maximization and team member growth.
  • Receive and process deliveries, including breakdown and rotation of cooler stock.
  • Weigh, price, and label products to ensure accurate inventory and customer satisfaction.
  • Stock cases and prepare valued-added products to meet customer demand.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and promote product knowledge and suggestive selling techniques.
  • Manage inventory control and ordering processes to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
  • Responsible for writing schedules, managing and training team members, and promoting positive team member morale.
  • Meet sales, gross profit, shrink, and labor targets to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Reconcile invoices and execute weekly merchandising plans to optimize product display and customer engagement.
  • Conduct regular department walks and staff meetings to ensure high standards of sanitation, food safety, and quality assurance.
Requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to read, communicate, and understand company policies and safety regulations in order to complete job duties in a satisfactory manner.
  • Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as the physical base scores for this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job.
  • Must meet the company performance standards for the job, including regular attendance.
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment.
Preferred Requirements
  • Serve Safe Certification.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Minimally 1-year relevant work experience.
