Job Responsibilities:

  • Interacting with patients and healthcare providers to gather information for accurate registration and appointment scheduling.
  • Responding to customer billing and payment inquiries.
  • Effectively managing the check-in or check-out process, including identification verification, demographic and insurance information, and preparing end-of-day reporting or payment reconciliation.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments in person or over the phone and entering appropriate insurance information.
  • Initiating and validating referrals/authorizations.
  • Providing exceptional customer service by listening to patients, taking ownership of solutions, and identifying the need to involve leadership to resolve concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, excellent mathematical skills, and ability to handle monies.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and solve problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in customer service or a healthcare/medical office environment.
  • Able to adapt, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, commercial and government health insurance, and billing guidelines.
