Job Responsibilities:
- Interacting with patients and healthcare providers to gather information for accurate registration and appointment scheduling.
- Responding to customer billing and payment inquiries.
- Effectively managing the check-in or check-out process, including identification verification, demographic and insurance information, and preparing end-of-day reporting or payment reconciliation.
- Scheduling and confirming appointments in person or over the phone and entering appropriate insurance information.
- Initiating and validating referrals/authorizations.
- Providing exceptional customer service by listening to patients, taking ownership of solutions, and identifying the need to involve leadership to resolve concerns.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, excellent mathematical skills, and ability to handle monies.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in customer service or a healthcare/medical office environment.
- Able to adapt, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, commercial and government health insurance, and billing guidelines.
