Job Title: Compensation Analyst

Reports to: Human Resource Generalist

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary: The Compensation Analyst will be responsible for researching job requirements to ensure competitive rates for company employees. This role will involve assessing jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or non-exempt and appropriate salary range.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or non-exempt and appropriate salary range.
  2. Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation range for each position.
  3. Prepare and maintain compensation and salary requirements.
  4. Gather data from market-based compensation surveys to assess market trends to present to upper-level management.
  5. Research employee benefits and recommend changes or updates to company's existing benefits or policies.
  6. Work with insurance brokers and investment planners to create competitive, cost-effective benefit packages for the organization.
  7. Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, human resource procedures and collective agreements.
  8. Prepare and maintain job classifications and salary scales.
  9. Ensure job descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by the incumbents and make any necessary changes.
  10. Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and documents job duties, responsibilities and skills required by each job.
  11. Prepare and present summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
  12. Conducts data and cost analysis to be used in employee negotiation and collective agreements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, or similar.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years as a compensation analyst required.
  • Experience in healthcare setting, a plus.
