We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As an Environmental Health Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and developing strategies to minimize environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and interpret environmental regulations to determine applicability and impact for sites
- Assist with implementation of programs to comply with regulations
- Partner with business leaders to continuously improve the culture, awareness, and accountability in support of EHS programs
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of EH&S programs to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation
- Complete audits, IH sampling, ergonomic assessments, and assist in pollution prevention activities
- Interface with regulatory representatives, senior management, the site EH&S Committee, and the Emergency Response, and Crisis Management teams
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS position OR a Master's degree and 3 years of related EHS experience
- Experience with managing various EHS compliance programs based on the review and interpretation of EHS regulations; experience in completing industrial hygiene assessments and sampling; oversight of third-party consultants/contractors; and/or implementation of EHS management systems (e.g. ISO 14001, OSHA VPP)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Master of Science (M.S.) degree in an EHS program of study, or currently enrolled in an M.S. degree program
- Professional certifications in EHS related programs (Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Certified Industrial Hygienist)
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft SharePoint programs
- Computer based skills specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point programs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels of an organization
