Job Summary

Environmental Science Associates is seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Compliance Leader to join our team in California. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading multifaceted construction projects and developing environmental compliance program standards and guidance for multiple regions within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or direct multifaceted construction projects in collaboration with construction crews, engineers, landscape architects, and other specialists on large and complex infrastructure development projects.
  • Develop environmental compliance program standards and guidance for multiple regions within the company.
  • Work with the existing management team to help lead environmental compliance activities for California High Speed Rail Construction Package 1, and possibly other segments.
  • Oversee environmental compliance on behalf of clients, while delivering assignments within budget and on schedule.
  • Prepare and manage amendments to permits during construction.
  • Produce technical work and written products that are clear, concise, and well supported.
  • Present at or provide support at construction management meetings, presenting complex technical information regarding compliance issues clearly and concisely.
  • Lead the preparation of proposals for environmental compliance services, including proposal writing, identifying opportunities, and engaging with proposal/interview teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience leading environmental compliance for large construction projects, preferably in California.
  • Extensive experience in leading teams to monitor and document compliance with environmental commitments, permit terms, and mitigation measures.
  • Working knowledge of data collection and reporting systems to facilitate communication across project teams.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work closely with clients and resource agencies to keep multi-million dollar construction projects on track, on budget and in compliance.
  • Experience in client service management, including growing client relationships, teaming relationships, and generating new business.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment and manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines while working on a team or independently.
