About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster to join our team at Builders Mutual. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing front-line customer-focused handling of lost time complex claims for an assigned market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and settle assigned claims, including interviewing insureds, claimants, witnesses, and physicians.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding coverage of claims, determining liability and the total value of claims.
  • Negotiate settlements and make recommendations regarding litigation.
  • Oversee litigated claims and manage litigation expenses within budget.
  • Monitor and adhere to periodic claim file diaries, creating a written plan of action to facilitate ongoing claim management, quick resolution, and best possible outcome.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of workers compensation litigated and lost time claims handling experience for Florida; additional jurisdictional knowledge of Georgia a plus.
  • FL or reciprocal state adjuster license required; other licenses in our footprint are a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in the use and knowledge of MS Office software; knowledge of policy processing and imaging systems.
  • Valid driver's license is required for occasional business travel.
