Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Lakewood Regional Support Bldg. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all workers compensation claims, ensuring compliance with LHUO return to work policy, and maintaining property specific OSHA compliant first aid logs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and track all lost time and restricted duty claims to ensure total compliance with LHUO return to work policy
  • Maintain communication with property specific Executive Committees and department heads on employee's injuries, restrictions, and follow-up date status
  • Ensure total compliance in maintaining property specific OSHA compliant first aid logs
  • Manage all workers compensation claims, including filing, follow-up, and daily communication between insurance adjusters and attorneys
  • Follow-up with employees by phone, in-person, or in writing, using specific guidelines of communication
  • Maintain a tracking regimen with the insurance carriers' access provided database
  • Reviews and analyzes reports from insurance carriers and claims adjusters as needed
  • Maintain database systems to track accident/loss statistics, maintain logs, and claim files on all pending claims, prepares and submits related reports to management
  • Create quarterly workers compensation analytical reports through the Clearview database
  • Organize and maintain various databases used in Risk Management on a daily basis
  • Assist the Risk Manager in the establishment and administration of cost-effective risk management programs that assure compliance with federal, state, and local safety legislation, and industry best practices related to safety/security
  • Assist the Risk Manager in the development and enforcement of policies, procedures, and standards for administration of the work unit in accordance with Loews Hotels Corporate Risk Management and safety/security objectives and guidelines
  • Identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective action to remedy deficiencies
  • Maintain, request, and update Certificate of Insurance information provided by all companies conducting business with Loews Hotels @ Universal Orlando
  • Work closely with Security in conducting internal investigations of all workers compensation claims, identifying witnesses when needed
  • Analyze findings and make recommendations regarding disposition of claims to Risk Manager
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Associates Degree or equivalent business experience
  • Two years Workers compensation claims management experience or equivalent training
  • Through knowledge of Florida State regulations regarding workers compensation guidelines and HIPPA compliance
  • Legal and/or Insurance experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills - oral and written
  • Full command of the English language with a working knowledge of Spanish is recommended
  • Ability to meet deadlines and execute on commitments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, and the ability to quickly learn other software required by Risk Management
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA and ADA compliance legislation and established guidelines, industry practices with regard to ensuring the safety and accessibility of Loews Hotel at Universal Orlando to both guest and employees
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple diverse tasks at one time
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
