Cybersecurity Curriculum Specialist (Senior Special Programs Coordinator, Part-Time)

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will become part of a dynamic and inclusive educational environment, demonstrating a commitment to working with a diverse population. This is a part-time role without benefits.

The grant-funded Cybersecurity Curriculum Specialist will be responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating specialized training materials, methods, and techniques tailored to the instructional needs of small businesses, municipalities, and non-profit organizations. The specialist will collaborate closely with faculty, training instructors, and platform providers, either in-person or remotely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and develop training materials that cater to various learning styles and instructional modalities;
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles to establish clear learning objectives and outcomes;
  • Implement best practices in curriculum development to create engaging content that enhances learner success and retention;
  • Design, adapt, and maintain training materials in accordance with established requirements;
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of content to ensure accuracy and relevance;
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training materials using organizational tools;
  • Document course structures, lesson objectives, and technical specifications;
  • Maintain precise records of curriculum changes and updates;
  • Foster effective communication within the team.

Required Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field, along with three years of experience in designing and developing cybersecurity training materials, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Over three years of experience in developing cybersecurity training materials;
  • Strong grasp of cybersecurity principles and a passion for problem-solving;
  • Ability to create curriculum tailored to the appropriate audience level;
  • Knowledge of training needs assessment principles;
  • Understanding of curriculum design, teaching methodologies, and assessment of educational effectiveness;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Familiarity with adult learning theories and training methodologies;
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences;
  • Knowledge of media production and dissemination techniques;
  • Ability to apply instructional design methodologies;
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or CompTIA Security+.
Additional Information:

Salary Range: $65 per hour

Position Type: MCCC Part-Time Grade 5
