Manufacturing Quality Assurance Specialist

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing customer complaints, RMAs, DMRs, and supplier CAPAs while leading continuous improvement projects and internal audits. They will also perform root cause analyses, metallographic inspections, and ensure quality standards through reporting, process improvements, and vendor quality tracking.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality engineering and process improvement, with experience in dimensional inspection within a manufacturing environment. They will be proficient in reading engineering drawings and using inspection tools/methods, and have a strong expertise in process improvement (FMEA, Six Sigma, etc.).
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Quality Manager by performing inspections, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and leading improvement projects.
- Handling customer complaints and managing RMAs, DMRs, and supplier CAPAs.
- Leading continuous improvement (CI) projects and internal audits.
- Conducting metallographic inspections and preparing reports.
- Performing quality inspections, root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions.
- Leading or participating in continuous improvement projects.
- Leading internal/external quality audits.
- Creating/maintaining inspection procedures and training on inspection systems/tools.
- Performing metallographic inspections and material analysis.
- Establishing machine capability envelopes for key equipment.
- Tracking vendor quality and providing status reports.
- Supporting materials testing and dimensional inspections as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a BS or AS in a scientific discipline with relevant quality or process engineering experience, and 3+ years in dimensional inspection within a manufacturing environment. They will be proficient in Microsoft Office and skilled at writing detailed, data-driven reports with visualization.
