Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer Job Description
The Quality Engineer will support the Quality Manager in performing inspections, root cause analyses, and corrective actions. They will also lead improvement projects and handle customer complaints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports Quality Manager by performing inspections, root cause analyses, and corrective actions
- Lead continuous improvement (CI) projects and internal audits
- Handle customer complaints and manage RMAs, DMRs, and supplier CAPAs
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects
- Lead internal/external quality audits
- Create/maintain inspection procedures and train on inspection systems/tools
- Perform metallographic inspections and material analysis
- Establish machine capability envelopes for key equipment
- Track vendor quality and provide status reports
- Support materials testing and dimensional inspections as needed
Requirements:
- ~ BS or AS in a scientific discipline with relevant quality or process engineering experience
- ~3+ years in dimensional inspection within a manufacturing environment
- ~ Proficient in reading engineering drawings and using inspection tools/methods
- ~ Strong expertise in process improvement (FMEA, Six Sigma, etc.)
- ~ Experience with large-scale quality programs (automotive/aerospace preferred)
- ~ Proficient in Microsoft Office; skilled at writing detailed, data-driven reports with visualization
- ~ Ability to work hands on at a small manufacturing organization
- ~ Local to Worcester, MA
