Job Title: Youth Advocacy and Engagement Specialist (Case Manager)

Job Summary:

Avenues for Youth is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Advocacy and Engagement Specialist (Case Manager) to join our team. As a key member of our Shelter and Transitional Living department, you will play a vital role in providing case management services to youth experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of youth to identify their needs and develop individualized goal plans.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to help youth achieve their goals, including financial stability, education, employment, and housing.
  • Assist youth in developing independent living skills, such as budgeting, time management, and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to ensure comprehensive support for youth.
  • Model positive social interactions and provide proactive intervention to de-escalate conflicts.
  • Enter data into Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) and complete outcomes reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in case management or a related field.
  • Previous experience with trauma-informed care, strengths-based youth empowerment models, and HMIS preferred.
