Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Technologist to join our team at Brown University Health. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for assisting in invasive and non-invasive cardiac catheterization/electrophysiology procedures, maintaining patient safety and comfort, and ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and performance of cardiac catheterization/electrophysiology procedures, including setting up and operating specialized equipment and monitoring patient status.
  • Acquire, enter, and record data, and perform various tests and calculations to support patient care.
  • Participate in continuous process improvement activities to enhance the quality of our services.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the efficient operation of our laboratory.
Requirements
  • Associate of Science degree in an Allied Health-related field or a certificate of completion from an accredited program in radiology, cardiovascular technology, nursing, engineering, or a related health science.
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) certification.
  • Certification in BLS and ACLS within 3 months of hire or transfer into the position.
  • 1 year of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, or Interventional Radiology Lab.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience setting up, operating, and maintaining technical Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiological equipment.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This role requires working in a laboratory and surgical procedure area with some exposure to hazards such as low-level radiation from x-ray equipment, blood samples, and electrical shock from high-voltage cables. The position also requires considerable walking, standing, lifting, and carrying items.
