Job Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will provide high-quality nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient-centered care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

* Provide routine daily nursing care to residents, including vital sign checks, wound dressing, and catheter insertion
* Listen to residents and their families, addressing their questions and concerns in a compassionate and empathetic manner
* Perform accurate and detailed charting of resident progress notes, ensuring timely reporting of changes in condition to the nurse supervisor
* Assist and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in providing care to residents
* Ensure equipment is in good operating order, monitoring residents at risk for falls and collecting lab samples as needed
* Abide by facility policies and procedures, including infection control and occupational exposure protocols

Requirements

* Completion of LVN training from an accredited school or college
* Valid LVN license in good standing, CPR and BLS certification, and IV certification (if applicable)
* Minimum of 1 year of skilled nursing experience, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to use a computer or tablet to enter resident data, with a strong commitment to maintaining accurate and up-to-date records

Working Conditions

The LVN will work in a fast-paced skilled nursing facility, interacting with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a dynamic environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The LVN may be required to work beyond scheduled hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and may be subject to call-back during emergency conditions. The LVN will be exposed to odors, dust, disinfectants, and other environmental hazards, and may be required to handle hazardous chemicals and infectious waste.
