We are seeking a compassionate and forward-thinking Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician to join our nursing team at River Vista Behavioral Health. As a Tele-Psych Nurse, you will administer nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct and indirect patient care duties
- Assist in the delivery of patient care in an acute psychiatric setting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Document patient activity and behavior in a timely and accurate manner
- Recognize and respond to patient needs, including providing 1:1 intervention as directed
- Graduate from an accredited Vocational School of Nursing or Psychiatric Technician program
- Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician with the State of California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians
- Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred
- CPR certification and successful completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
Working conditions for all employees are as follows, but not limited to a psychiatric hospital setting; some risk involved in the event of aggressive patient(s); work load may include day, evening, night, weekend and/or holiday shifts.
The LVN/LPT is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, blood borne pathogens, and loud noise levels.
Mental demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job, but are not limited to the ability to remain calm in a stressful environment; and the emotional stability, physical stamina and agility to handle stress and respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
Additional Requirements:- A strong knowledge of The Joint Commission, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities
