Job Summary:The Licensed Vocational Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide routine daily nursing care to residents, including vital sign checks, wound dressing, and catheter insertion.
- Listen to residents and their families, addressing their questions and concerns in a empathetic and professional manner.
- Perform accurate and detailed charting of resident progress notes, ensuring timely reporting of changes in condition to the nurse supervisor.
- Assist and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in providing care to residents.
- Ensure equipment is in good operating order and monitor residents at risk for falls.
- Collect lab samples and adhere to Infection and Control policies.
- Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately.
- Attend annual facility in-service training programs and complete other assignments as requested by management.
- Completion of LVN training from an accredited school or college.
- Valid LVN license in good standing.
- Valid CPR and BLS card.
- IV Certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of skilled nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to use a computer or tablet to enter resident data.
The Licensed Vocational Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with residents, families, and government agencies. May be required to work beyond scheduled working hours at times and may be subjected to odors, dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoking, or air contaminants.
