Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse I to join our team at Madera County, CA. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Services team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical nursing duties in support of client physical health, medication administration, and professional psychiatric and/or medical staff.
  • Distribute and administer medications in accordance with psychiatrist or physician orders and provide medication monitoring, support, and education to clients and staff.
  • Assist with the planning and conduct of clinics, including set-up and loading of supplies, equipment, and facilities.
  • Charts, interprets, and executes oral and written orders received from professional medical staff; maintains nursing notes of changes in orders and patient progress, condition, and response to medications.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including preparing records and reports, entering computer data, copying, and filing documents, answering the telephone, and ordering, stocking, and maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain by the time of appointment, a valid Vocational Nurse or Psychiatric Technician licensure issued by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, and maintain a valid CPR certificate.
  • Ability to work in a standard office and/or medical setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to operate a motor vehicle to visit various County and meeting sites.
