Job Description

Reuben Alan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join its team in Seattle. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the billing team, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing of clients, and overseeing fiduciary responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily accounting functions, including planning, prioritizing, directing workflow, and acting as a resource for questions and senior management.
  • Work closely with key firm clients and manage billing relationships.
  • Ensure internal and external customer questions and problems are responded to and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Manage the billing team, providing mentoring, training, and identifying professional development opportunities.
  • Develop ad hoc reports, charts, and analysis to guide financial decisions.
  • Prepare and interpret data to inform financial direction.
  • Coordinate staff billing and e-billing activities, including monthly e-billing audits.
  • Oversee trust processes and act as a resource for trust account questions.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages with analysis for the Office Managing Partner.
  • Participate in collection meetings and strategy sessions, including outreach to clients to resolve issues with past due invoices or e-billing issues.
  • Develop training for the billing team, lawyers, and Practice Assistants on billing-specific software.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 5-10 years of accounting and professional experience, with 5 years of experience as a manager.
  • Advanced level experience in Elite and Excel.
  • Familiarity with general ledger chart of accounts.
  • Ability to communicate and respond to inquiries/requests with diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to oversee multiple functions while leading and directing staff.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Understanding of financial accounting systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Excel.
  • Financial reporting and report-writing experience required.
  • Extensive prior professional services billing experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet obligations with confidentiality, integrity, and sensitivity.
