Speech-Language Pathologist Position

Framingham Public Schools is looking for a committed Speech-Language Pathologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering assessment and intervention services to students experiencing communication challenges, ensuring adherence to Special Education guidelines.

Required Credentials:

  • Current Massachusetts Teaching license in Speech-Language Pathology along with a valid American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competency.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree with a supervised internship is preferred.
  • Bilingual abilities in Spanish or Portuguese are advantageous.

  • Ability to implement current educational research.
  • Excellent communication capabilities.
  • Experience in assessing student abilities.
  • Capacity to engage with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with special education regulations and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute intervention strategies for students with language, speech, and hearing impairments.
  • Track student development and assess ongoing needs.
  • Engage with parents and educational staff regarding student requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Facilitate training sessions and consultations.
  • Participate in professional meetings and workshops.
  • Utilize instructional and office technology effectively.
  • Create individualized care plans for eligible students.

Work Environment:

  • Must navigate various areas within the school facility.
  • Occasional requirements to reach, sit, kneel, or crawl.
  • Expected to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
  • Proficient use of computers and office equipment is necessary.
  • Effective communication with students and staff is essential.
  • Interact with students to provide necessary support.
  • Work in a typical school setting with manageable noise levels.
  • May encounter bodily fluids or pathogens.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Special Education Director. Performance evaluations will be conducted as per the relevant contractual agreements.

Supervisory Role:

No supervisory responsibilities.
