Position Summary:

We are in search of a pivotal member of our legal team who will significantly influence the development of our insurance products while ensuring adherence to all relevant legal standards. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate statutory, case law, and legal trends to determine their implications for Orion180's operations.
  • Assist in managing consumer grievances and regulatory inquiries.
  • Provide comprehensive legal guidance on claims coverage and associated matters.
  • Supervise claims litigation and collaborate with external Claims Counsel.
  • Review, draft, and revise Orion180's insurance products to ensure legal conformity.
  • Keep abreast of state-specific laws and regulations to guarantee compliance across all business sectors.
  • Engage in cross-departmental compliance initiatives and uphold adherence to company policies.
  • Draft and assess company contracts, agreements, and legal documents.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctor (J.D.) required.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience with the Florida Bar or another state Bar.
  • Expertise: Knowledge of Property & Casualty Insurance, including admitted and surplus lines products.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in claims litigation within an insurance firm or legal practice, along with regulatory experience.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, legal research capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Integrity: Commitment to the highest ethical standards and professionalism.

Physical Requirements:

This role entails standard office duties, including sitting, standing, walking, and using stairs. Effective communication, the ability to lift light objects (under 25 lbs), and occasional bending or stooping to access files are necessary.

Work Environment:

The office setting is typically quiet and climate-controlled, with occasional variations due to conversations or maintenance. Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet organizational needs.
