Position Summary:
We are seeking a Plant Controller to be based in Stilwell, Oklahoma.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting operations, including inventory management, cost accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger entries. Design processes and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure timely and accurate transaction recording while promoting organizational efficiency.
  • Manage monthly closing procedures within the local ERP system, ensuring reconciliation of all plant-related balance sheet accounts.
  • Guarantee precise financial reporting in compliance with company policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Handle inventory costing and valuation, including variance and reserve analysis.
  • Collaborate with operations to maintain inventory accuracy through proper counting and recording processes.
  • Ensure comprehensive metrics reporting.
  • Respond promptly to requests for information from group and corporate offices.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of financial analyses necessary for informed business decisions.
  • Manage governmental reporting obligations (income tax, property tax, sales/use tax) as required.
  • Exhibit trust, initiative, and entrepreneurial spirit in daily activities and communications with colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a manufacturing setting, with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Required experience in manufacturing and cost accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and analytical tools such as Excel and Power BI.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with robust organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines.
  • Willingness to collaborate with team members to complete necessary tasks.

Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred, along with CPA certification and/or an MBA. Candidates should thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity effectively.

Communication and Special Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures and training manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence. Strong communication skills with co-workers and other employees; excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities. Must possess strong analytical skills and the capacity to investigate questionable data. Ability to work independently, demonstrating energy and attention to detail. Excellent time-management and organizational skills are essential.
